Vectrix Maxi-Scooter

I have had my Vectrix electric maxi-scooter since early July 2008. It was purchased in Seattle at the local Vectrix dealer The Green Car Company. I have about 3,000 miles so far this summer on it. I will likely be riding it less during the rainy winter months here is Seattle, but I still expect to use it about 7,000 miles per year.

Max speed is 64 mph (they say 62 mph, but it is really 64 mph)
Range is 35 to 55 miles per charge, depending on the speeds you drive at. Best speed for maximum range is about 30 mph.
3 hours to recharge the 3.7 kwh battery on a standard 110/120 volt outlet.
It costs between 32 to 35 cents to recharge (from empty) at 8 cents per kwh.

The cost to purchase the Vectrix is $8,795. It is about $1,000 more expensive than the same sized gasoline maxi-scooter. But that $1,000 premium to buy is saved in gasoline costs in less than 18 months.

Here is a great video on Viddler that covers a demo of the Vectrix.
It has the perfect music for an electric vehicle.

Here is the a great video on YouTube that gives the overall preview on the Vectrix.
